History of Neaves Rowing Services.

David Neaves has been supplying and manufacturing aluminium rowing riggers to the rowing world for 28 years. In 2002 he moved to Swanage in Dorset from Staines.

Having established himself in the area David is now set to retire and explore his passion for art and photography (www.davidneaves.co.uk)

As from 1st September Kevin Ayles and Peter Hogden will be taking on the business with David in the wings to help maintain the quality of work existing and new customers would expect.

Kevin Ayles

Kevin has been in the sport for 30 years, having started out as a cox at Westover and Bournemouth Rowing Club he has rowed and coached throughout his years.

In 2001 Kevin gave up 20 years of engineering to become the boat house manager at Canford School where he has been until August 2007. Kevin has coached to junior international level for a number of years with athletes at the Coupe, GB France and the Home Internationals.

Kevin also founded Bournemouth University Boat Club and has run the boat club over its 15 years to its current success. His crews have been represented at Henley Royal Regatta and the European Student games showing that his coaching abilities stretch further than the junior system.

At Canford School, Kevin was responsible for maintaining the extensive fleet of boats to a very high standard. He is able to work and maintain all makes of shell including carbon fibre and wooden shells. Kevin has the knowledge and expertise to repair most damages to racing shells and is able to work with a range of carbon fibre weaves and glues.

Peter Hogden

Peter has been in the rowing business for years and brings with him an already thriving trade name of "Stelph Racing". Stelph Racing Boats have been hitting the rowing circuit for 10 years now and have been supplied to many top internationals.

In 1997 Peter, also an avid sailor, took part in the Atlantic Rowing Challenge. He has a wealth of experience under his belt and can help and assist you with the purchase and set up of your specialist equipment for your crossing.

Also, Peter has been a successful rower and coach. He has coached to international level based at Exeter Rowing Club and Exeter University Boat Club.
